Lucas Morgan (Enviral Design) – Kinect, Blender – Championship TouchDesigner Project
This project was made as part of The Interactive & Immersive Championship.
Interactive Challenge: This challenge turned into a game of 2.5D pong, where the user’s hands as the kinect saw them controlled the location of two paddles, and a particle system emitted a singular point when the match began, that would collide with the paddles sending it into a new direction. The paddles were spherical, so the physics were somewhat reminiscent of table hockey.
Integration Challenge: In this challenge, Lucas decided to play to two of his greater strengths – lighting design and experience in the 3d fields. I integrated a simple 3d scene in blender, with real time volumetric cone lights taking on different position and rotation presets based on what tags were sent in via the Twitch Chat module provided at the start of the challenge.
