Hello, this is Xtal! I’m excited to share a new project file: Box Impact Flash FX.

This effect uses a box collision system to trigger rhythmic flashes in the background. By combining precise TOP compositing with CHOP logic control, each impact creates a punchy visual reveal that feels sharp, dynamic, and intentional.

What’s Inside

– Movie File In TOP
Provides the base background image for the effect.

– Constant TOP + Crop TOP
Defines the box-shaped mask area and activates it during collision events.

– Composite TOP
Blends the box and background layers, enabling the background to flash through upon impact.

– CHOP Network (LFO → Math → Logic)
LFO CHOP: Generates periodic signals that mimic collision timing.
Math CHOP: Adjusts the amplitude to control flash intensity.
Logic CHOP: Converts continuous signals into discrete on/off states to drive the background reveal.

– Transform TOP
Animates the box motion to simulate collision dynamics.

Effect Description:

The Box Impact Flash FX follows a clear sequence: collision → flash → background reveal. When the box strikes, the background is momentarily exposed and concealed, producing a strong, rhythmic flash that delivers both timing and impact. This isn’t just a background reveal it’s a collision-driven animation that adds energy and rhythm to any visual composition.
