XTALCALX TOUCHDESIGNER PROJECT FILE XTAL-PF-012 INK IN MOTION

Hello, this is Xtal.
I’m excited to release my newest TouchDesigner visual project:

“Abyssal Bloom – Ink in Motion”, a dark and dreamlike visualization inspired by the slow blooming of ink underwater.

Rather than simulating physical particles, this piece uses a purely TOP-based approach, combining noise fields, composite operations, and bloom post-processing to create an immersive sense of flow, dispersion, and light-infused depth.

Key Techniques Used in This Project:

– Noise-Driven Diffusion:

Procedural noise drives the organic spread of ink-like forms, creating fluid, natural movement without SOPs or particle systems.

– Layered Composite Blending:

Multiple image layers are dynamically combined using Composite TOP, blending sharp ink edges with soft gradients to evoke depth and motion.

– Bloom Effects for Depth & Glow:

A fine-tuned Bloom TOP is used to add glow to highlights, enhancing the ethereal and underwater-like atmosphere.

– Time-Based Evolution:

The system evolves continuously over time using feedback and controlled noise animation producing never-ending generative motion.

– Fully Customizable Parameters:

Includes controls for noise resolution, blend modes, bloom intensity, evolution speed, and more.

Best Suited For:

– Ambient or meditative visuals
– VJ loops and projection art
– Generative art experiments
– Music visualizations or live sets

What’s Included:

– Full TouchDesigner .toe file with labeled and organized network
– Real-time ready with GPU-efficient techniques
– Adjustable settings with intuitive UI sliders
– Rendered example preview for reference

Thank you for supporting my visual work on Patreon.

This project is part of my ongoing exploration into texture-based fluid aesthetics using only TOPs ideal for creators interested in real-time generative visuals with minimal setup.
