TouchDesigner: DIY interactive picture frame with Arduino & capacitive touch sensors using resistors

This is a digital triptych of short films made touch-sensitive and interactive using basic capacitive touch sensors and an Arduino. The sensors are simply made using resistors and the CapacitiveSensor Arduino library.

I’m using the output from the sensors to control the playback speed of the MovieFileIn TOP in Touchdesigner and I added Filter and Lag CHOPs to create a kind of tape-stop effect, as well as altering the brightness and switching a feedback loop on to distort the images of the videos when not in playback.

The films are pieces of original music made by sampling the voice of Shane MacGowan, frontman of The Pogues, who frequently discussed the issue of Irish emigration, and also used archival footage about Irish emigration and the life of Shane MacGowan.
