SYNTHETIC JUDGMENT (Short Horror Film) | Directed by malecaviar
A brutal experiment in fear, Synthetic Judgment is a one-minute horror descent into the collapse of flesh, metal, and spirit. In this experimental short film, a synthetic human—an android designed to imitate life—is dragged into a nightmare of torture, blood, and existential terror at the hands of a relentless demon. Inspired by the raw, grinding brutality of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and the cold, uncanny presence of androids in Alien, this work explores the universal truth of horror: whether human or machine, pain makes us equal.
As the synthetic body screams, bleeds, and breaks, the line between technology and humanity blurs. This isn’t clean sci-fi—it’s dirty, visceral, and relentless, ripping away the polished surface of artificial life to reveal the vulnerability inside.
⚙️ The Process
Unlike traditional VFX workflows, this film was created entirely inside TouchDesigner, using custom-coded GLSL shaders, Python scripting, and procedural systems. Every texture, distortion, and pulse of light was built from the ground up to behave like a living, breaking organism.
This wasn’t plug-and-play—every frame is the result of hand-written code and generative logic, forcing the software itself into a state of chaos. My background as a DJ, producer, and video artist (under the name malecaviar) drives the rhythm of this piece: I treat visuals like sound, sculpting them with raw precision until they bleed, scream, and fracture on screen.
🎭 About the Artist
I’m Adam Dabdoub, aka malecaviar—a DJ, producer, and experimental video artist working at the intersection of sound, horror, and digital art. My work lives where club culture collides with cinema, where beats dissolve into screams, and where machines become haunted by the fears they were never built to feel.
