in this tutorial, audio is treated not as a simple reactive trigger, but as a structured control system for building cinematic multi-layer compositions. we split the spectrum into low / mid / high bands, convert each band into usable control values, and map those signals into a multi-layer mixing workflow to precisely control layer presence (opacity), mix intensity, and blending relationships. the result is not a single isolated effect — it’s a scalable, cinematic layered system.
what you’ll build
– 3-band audio control system (low / mid / high)
– clean control values using analyze + math + lag
– modular outputs using null chops (out_low / out_mid / out_high)
– a multi-layer video mixing workflow using a multi mix structure
– audio-driven opacity/mix/blend behavior for live-style mixing
– final polish with level, noise texture, and composite
workflow overview
1. audio input → split into low/mid/high
2. extract energy with analyze → scale with math → smooth with lag
3. finalize control outputs with null (out_low / out_mid / out_high)
4. map signals into multi mix layers (opacity/mix/blend)
5. refine tone (level) + add cohesion texture (noise) + finalize composite
tips for better results
– when scaling up to 8+ layers, avoid making every layer behave the same. small changes in blend mode and response strength can produce dramatically different moods.
– tune low to feel slower and wider, and high to feel faster and more detailed for better balance.
– use noise as subtle cohesion, not as a visible effect.

more expansions of this system are coming soon — mapping audio into blur, transforms, and color pipelines.
