Ghost Against Ghost "Son of Cessiphus" visual by Newnome Beauton
Some wounds don’t vanish, they transform.
“Son of Cessiphus” begins the journey of the Ghost Against Ghost album Still Love with quiet tension and restrained beauty, before unraveling into something far more volatile. It traces the emotional shift from sorrow to confrontation, from stillness to storm, echoing the unpredictable path of healing after heartbreak.
Illustrated powerfully by this new generative visual by Newnome Beauton, who shared this about his work:
“I started by focusing on the track’s dynamics, smooth and fluid in the beginning, but sharp and aggressive as it evolves. With this in mind, I created a system that reflects both of these states, transitioning from a web-like fabric (inspired by ancient Greek associations with the track’s title) to a stormy, abstract sea.”
The piece was entirely created in TouchDesigner and exists as a generative patch, a system in flux, much like the emotional systems we build and rebuild in the aftermath of loss. This is the sound and shape of rupture… and the long, unsteady movement toward repair.
What does healing look like for you: calm waters, or the storm that clears them?
