How to connect #ableton and #touchdesigner

Short overview on how to setup the connection between Ableton and Touchdesigner on Mac. On Windows this should work the same way you just need to find the directories (maybe they are within hidden folders). I´m planning to do a follow up and show some simple ways to make use of it.

Connect Ableton and Touchdesigner

1. Right-click TouchDesigner in Applications → Show Package Contents.
2. Find the TDableton folder for your Live version.
3. Open Ableton’s MIDI Remote Scripts folder.
4. Copy the TDableton folder into it.
5. Launch Ableton → Preferences → MIDI tab.
6. Set TouchDesigner as a Control Surface.
7. Drag the TDableton folder into “Places” (Ableton) for quick access.
8. Add a TDA Master Device to your main Ableton track.
9. In TouchDesigner, open the Palette → TDableton.
10. Drag a tdAbletonPackage into your project.
