Interactive Wall Experiment in TouchDesigner
Everyone loves a bit of toilet humour, and I’ve been exploring a random interactive idea that brings a touch of the surreal. Inspired by those classic horror movie moments where the eyes in paintings follow you, I decided to try and recreate this effect using TouchDesigner as a personal project.
I began by experimenting with arrows to test tracking and object rotation, which led to some fun discoveries. Currently, it tracks mouse position, but I can see this working with a lidar input for added depth and interactivity. There’s still a lot to refine, and I’m not sure this is the optimal method for mimicking painting eyes, but experimentation is where all the fun begins.
With it being Mental Health Month, I thought this concept could evolve into something more meaningful—a large-scale interactive installation that shares positive thoughts and messages, combining playfulness with a sense of support and community. The possibilities are endless, and I’m excited to keep exploring.
