Excited to present this new edition of Reflect in collaboration with @wes_broersen . Using focused laser light in combination with a reflective water surface that is excited using audio, intricate reflections get projected in and around the room amplifying the natural disturbances that occur during this process.

A seemingly “simple” natural process that creates a complex output.

This work builds on my earlier research, exploring the visual manifestations of sound. Two years ago I started developing a modular speaker system that produces an endless variety of sine waves that interact with a water surface. Whitin this simulatable environment, Reflect explores how simple sine waves can evolve into complex, emergent behaviors—resulting in immersive ensembles that evoke a sense of hypnosis or trance.

The work will be displayed during @rotterdamartweek at @the_new_current from 25–30 march.
